Common prosperity is the essential requirement of socialism, and the construction of a unilied market, as amajor strategie decision in the new development stage, has had a profound impact on regional coordinated developmentand common prosperity. The article evaluates the impact of the unified market construction on common prosperity fromthe household perspective based on household samples from the China Family Panel Studies (CFpS) from 2014 to 2020.T'he results indicate that the unified market construction can increase household income, narrow the income gap, andpromote common prosperity. From various dimensions of the unified market construction, the unified market constructiorfor labor and capital factors plays a positive role in achieving common prosperity, while the unified market constructionfor commodities only has a promoling ellect on household income. Mechanism analysis reveals that the unifed markeconstruetion can promote households' employment and entrepreneurship, return of migrant labor, and narrow the digitaldivide, thereby promoing common prosperity. 'T'he unified market construction has a more significant elfect on increasingincome for families with the lower human capital, indicating that the unified market construetion is inelusive forlow-income families. Based on this, the article suggests continuing to promote the construction of a unified market to betterpromote comprehensive common prosperity.
